NHK Spring Co., Ltd. and NHK Spring Group companies (the “Company”) believe that one of our most important responsibility is to protect the personal information of all those who provide it to the Company.

The Company hereby establishes the “NHK Spring Group Privacy Policy”. In order to prevent divulgence, diversion, alteration, etc. of the personal information provided by customers to the Company, the Company takes appropriate security control measures in accordance with laws, regulations, guidelines, and the Company’s internal rules; and it shall commit itself to protecting the personal information that it holds.

Further, the Company shall provide all of its employees with education relating to appropriate handling of personal information and related matters, so that the protection to personal information will fully be ensured.

  1.           Collection of Personal Information
    When the Company intends to collect personal information, it shall notify and announce the purpose of use in advance; and the Company shall collect personal information within the scope necessary to achieve the purpose of use.

  2.           Purpose of Use of Personal Information
    The Company shall not use any personal information that it has collected beyond the extent necessary to fulfill the purpose of use, without the data subject’s consent. The Company shall use the personal information that it has collected for the following purposes:
    •   For planning, research, development, quality improvement, marketing, and sale of products and services that the Company handles, or provision of notices related thereto;
    •   For providing replies and responses to customers’ questions, requests, and applications;
    •   For the Company’s recruitment operations in general; and
    •   For other purposes of use expressly indicated when the personal information is obtained.

  3.           Sharing Personal Information to a Third Party
    The Company shall not disclose or share with a third party any personal information that it handles, except:
    •   the Company has obtained the data subject’s consent;
    •   disclosure or provision is required by laws or regulations;
    •   disclosure or provision is required in order to protect a natural person or legal person’s life, body, or property, and it is difficult to obtain the data subject’s consent;
    •   disclosure or provision is especially necessary in order to improve public health or to promote sound development of children, and it is difficult to obtain the data subject’s consent;
    •   it is necessary to cooperate with a national institute or a local government or a person consigned thereby in conducting affairs prescribed by laws and regulations, and obtaining the data subject’s consent may interfere with the conduct of those affairs;
    •   the personal information is processed into statistical data in such a condition that makes it impossible to identify the data subject as a specific individual;
    •   the personal information obtained pursuant to 1. above is provided to its external business contractors within the scope necessary to achieve the purpose of use that is notified or announced in advance; and
    •   the personal information is jointly used pursuant to the provisions relating to joint use in 4. below.

  4.           Joint Use of Personal Information
    The Company may jointly use the personal information as follows:
    •   Items of personal data for joint use
    Name, address, telephone number, mail address, department, position, date of birth, information relating to transactions
    •   Scope of joint users
    NHK Spring Co., Ltd. and its subsidiaries (including those subsidiaries located outside Japan)
    •   Purpose of joint use
    Each purpose of use described in Section 2 of this Privacy Policy
    •   Party responsible for joint use

  5.           Security Control Measures for Personal Information
    In order to prevent improper or unauthorized access, use, disclosure, loss, alteration, or destruction of personal information, and to otherwise secure personal information, the Company has implemented measures in technical, physical, and organizational security practices, in addition to this Privacy Policy and Personal Information Protection Rules, etc. Further, the Company provides appropriate supervision and education of its external business contractors and employees who handle personal information. In case of handling personal information in foreign countries, the Company takes appropriate security control measures upon ascertaining personal information protection systems and related matters in these foreign countries.

  6.           Procedures to Make Inquiries About Personal Information or Request Correction, Deletion, etc. of Personal Information
    If a customer wishes to make inquiries about his/her personal information, or to request correction or deletion, etc. of any of his/her erroneous personal information, please use the inquiry form on the Company’s website. Upon confirming that the inquiry has been made by the customer himself/herself, the Company shall disclose, correct or delete, etc., personal information within a reasonable period and scope.

  7.           Cookies and Web Beacons
    (1)   Some pages of the Company’s website use “Cookies” to enable customers to utilize the website more conveniently. Cookies allow the website to identify customers’ computers, but do not collect any information that can identify a specific individual, such as customers’ names, addresses, telephone numbers, and e-mail addresses. A customer can set the browser he/she uses so that it may refuse Cookies alert and receipt thereof. Even if a customer has disabled Cookies, the customer can still use the Company’s website, although certain functions may not be available.
    (2)   The Company’s website may use web beacons to research customers’ use of the website; however, it does not collect any information that can identify a specific individual such as customers’ names, addresses, telephone numbers, and e-mail addresses.
    (3)   The Company’s website uses “Google Analytics,” an access analytics tool of Google in order to ascertain customers’ visits to the website. Google Analytics uses Cookies in order to collect, record, and analyze the history of customers’ visits to the website; however, such information does not contain any information that can identify a specific individual. Google Analytics can be disabled by changing browser add-on settings upon downloading and installing the “Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on” from Google’s website.
    (4)   The Company’s website may contain links to websites operated by other companies. Regarding details of how the websites linked to from the Company’s website handle Cookies and so on, please check the privacy policy and Cookies policy, etc., of these websites.

The Company shall regularly review and may amend this policy. In such a case, the amendment shall be effective upon being posted on this page.
